Data capture

To support data capture at the University of Graz, a thorough evaluation procedure led to the purchase of the software products ActaPro and HiDA (startext).

The hierarchical database administrator (HiDA) is a powerful and efficient tool for  capturing, managing and searching data. The software allows for the design of individual templates according to the specific requirements of the different collections and objects at the University of Graz. In addition to the Crime Museum and the Institute of Archaeology, which uses it for the capture of its diverse objects, the University Library also uses this software for the elaborate description of historical manuscripts.

ActaPro supports the uniform capturing of records and is used at the archive at the University of Graz. The data are ISAD(G) compliant and will be searchable on a future online presentation. The software also supports and facilitates administrative aspects, such as general requests or loans.
