Special Collections
The Special Collections Department of the University Library Graz is working on the collection of 371 manuscripts deriving from the monastery of Seckau, which was founded in the 12th century. Its library and scriptorium my be considered a centre for spiritual life and sciences in the formative period of Styria.
The collaborators of the Special Collections Department are working on the meticulous re-description of this historical book collection. Aside of the deepening description of the contents the new catalogue will provide additional material with regard to codicology, bookbinding, conservatory situation, and watermarks. The whole corpus of manuscripts will be digitised.
